Kawaii Islands raises $2.4M in private token sale for its upcoming anime metaverse

--

Kawaii Islands, a new GameFi project born out of the strategic partnership between Imba Games Studio and Oraichain, has raised $2.4 million to build a new-generation of NFT-based anime games, where users can participate by playing or creating content. The project plans to build a connected game-verse where players socialise, play and monetize content.

The Kawaii Islands alpha is debuting this September, where players can get their first look into a fantasy universe of magical animals and plants, as well as a play to earn gaming experience. The recent reveal of the character graphics and game trailer was very well received by the community and to-be players.

Vijay Garg, CEO of Mapleblock Capital, who is the lead investor of the project said, “Kawaii Islands has strong design elements and fun mechanics that were inherited from its predecessor game series,” he added, “the AI-powered verification of on-chain game NFTs, will unlock a deeper layer of engagement compared to traditional gaming”.

Besides play-to-earn, Kawaii Islands boasts a long list of features that will allow players to expand their imagination and creativity, such as farming, crafting, decorating, styling, and social networking and many more that are in the pipeline. Another highlight feature is the “create-to-earn” NFT marketplace, which serves as a platform for creators to build their own Web 3.0 store using their artistic and story-telling skills.

“The progress being made in Web 3.0 and NFT sector along with the development of the Metaverse and other innovative concepts such as digital marketplaces, stake or play to earn, are yet to be fully appreciated by millions around the world. We believe that this path we are in is inevitable and will increasingly get stronger with more advances and new generations entering the space.”, said James Wo, CEO of DFG and co-founder of Jsquare

Alongside Mapleblock, DFG and Jsquare, many investors from both crypto and business spaces have supported the vision of “play, connect, create, and earn” gaming that Kawaii Islands is targeting. Some of these investors are Signum (co-lead investor), Hyperchain, AU21, X21, Kyros, Rikkei Capital, Shin Chan IEO/ICO Alerts, SkyVision and Paid Network. With their recent fundraise, Kawaii Islands has taken one more step towards building an engaging anime metaverse.
